Amazing Changes!
The Secret of Cells That Play Diverse Roles
The human body contains special cells that can transform into various forms.
These specialized cells are called "stem cells". Normally, stem cells are dormant, but when they sense that the body's cells are damaged or their number is insufficient, they divide on their own to replace the damaged or deficient cells and repair the body's functions.
Features of Regenerative Medicine Using Stem Cells
Regenerative medicine utilizing stem cells activates the self-repair capabilities of these unique cells and works on worn cartilage and organs that have lost their function, helping to restore the body’s natural abilities.
In other words, it is an approach that utilizes one's own cells to promote repair in areas where healing is difficult through rest or nutrition alone.
Using the patient's own cells
Highly safe treatment
The regenerative medicine we provide is called "autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy".This treatment method is increasingly gaining attention. Stem cells are harvested from the patient's body, grown externally, and then returned to the patient's body once they have reached a predetermined amount.
Because the cells to be returned are the patient's own cells, immune rejection or allergic reactions are less likely, making this a highly safe treatment.
This autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy is one of the latest and most closely watched medical technologies, with extensive research being conducted around the world.
POINT
Stem cells exist in various tissues such as cord blood, bone marrow, internal organs, and fat. At our clinic, to minimize physical burden, we collect stem cells from abdominal fat.
Regenerative Medicine at Repair Cell Clinic
What are the features of autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy?
Repair Cell Clinic, registered with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, is a regenerative medicine clinic boasting advanced expertise and treating a wide range of conditions. Treatment cases have exceeded 14,000 (as of the end of January 2026).
We offer specialized treatment for joint diseases such as knee, hip, and shoulder, as well as stroke, hernia, spinal cord injury, diabetes, liver disease, skin, and many other conditions.
Next Generation Regenerative Medicine Technology
- A revolutionary new era of regenerative medicine that uses "differentiation induction" technology to induce stem cells to differentiate into specific tissues.
- Example: Inducing stem cells to actively differentiate into target tissues such as internal organs, bone and cartilage
By efficiently differentiating stem cells into target tissues, a reliable therapeutic effects can be expected. This may lead to improved symptoms and functional recovery, as well as shorter treatment durations.
High level of expertise
- Joint disease: approximately 100 million stem cells injected into the joint, in combination with PRP
- Hernia: Unique method of administering stem cells directly into the spinal cord
- Stroke: As notified to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, up to 200 million stem cells can be administered intravenously.
Specialized treatments for each disease are expected to improve symptoms and recovery that have been difficult to achieve with conventional therapies. The use of large quantities of stem cells enables more effective treatment and improves the quality of life of patients.
Unique stem cell extraction method
- Stem cells are extracted without chemicals or additives using "isolation sheets.
- Proliferation of stem cells with stronger vitality without damaging cells
The stem cells are extracted without the use of lipolytic enzymes (chemicals) and without additives. Thus, the treatment is less stressful to the body and more natural. The use of these high-quality stem cells is expected to improve the effectiveness of the treatment.
Safety
- Low risk of side effects due to the use of the patient's own fat and blood
- High survival and engraftment rates of stem cells through cultivation at an advanced CPC (Cell Processing Center)
- Simple , day treatment that is easy on the body
- No lipolytic enzymes (chemicals)
Because autologous cells are used, the risk of rejection and allergies is extremely low. In addition, the use of high-quality stem cells can be expected to improve and sustain treatment effects.
Repair Cell Clinic continues to provide a high level of expertise and reliability in regenerative medicine specializing in specific diseases. We aim to provide safe and effective treatment tailored to the needs of each individual patient, and through these features, we support our patients to improve their symptoms and lead healthy lives.
Types of Stem Cell Therapies and
Corresponding Diseases
Intravenous injection (IV)
Correspondence
Disease
Stroke, Spinal cord injury, diabetes, liver disease
Regenerative medicine utilizing stem cells is indicated for locations where they can be injected directly, such as joints and skin. However, in some cases, direct injection may be difficult due to the location within the body. In such situations, intravenous injections is used. Through intravenous injection, stem cells are transported throughout the body via the bloodstream and serve to repair and restore function to areas and organs that cannot be injected directly.
In fact, medical and research institutions around the world have reported that regenerative therapy is effective not only for liver disease and diabetes, but also for spinal cord injury, stroke (cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage), lung disease, heart disease, and even autoimmune diseases such as rheumatism.
If intravenous injection is
recommended
- Treatment to lower blood glucose levels with oral medications.
- Insulin is being injected subcutaneously.
- Early stage diabetes or pre-diabetes with exercise and diet
- Said to have fatty liver, cirrhosis, or hepatitis
- Suffering from sequelae of stroke (numbness, pain, other disabilities)
- Suffering from aftereffects after spinal cord injury surgery
Joint injection
Correspondence
Disease
Knee,hip,shoulder, etc.
Until now, methods of relieving pain in the knee, hip, shoulder, and other parts of the body have been limited. There were common treatments such as medications and injections, but when these were ineffective, major surgery such as artificial joints or arthroscopy were the only options.
Many people wanted to avoid surgery because of the risks and recovery time involved.
However, with advancements in regenerative medicine, new hope has emerged. Cultured stem cells can be injected directly into the joint to reduce inflammation, repair worn cartilage and damaged tissue, and relieve pain.
This offers the possibility to be free from pain without undergoing surgery.
Joint injections are recommended for
- Ineffective with current treatment
- Resistance to arthroscopic or artificial joint surgery
- Can't take time off to be hospitalized.
Intraspinal Direct Injection Therapy
Correspondence
Disease
Spinal cord injury, Cervical hernias, Lumbar hernias, Thoracic hernias, Spinal canal stenosis
Direct intraspinal injection therapy is a treatment method in which stem cells are administered directly to the injured spinal nerve site. Conventional intravenous administration of stem cells has the problem that the number of stem cells delivered to the damaged area is limited because the stem cells are dispersed throughout the body.
In direct intraspinal injection therapy, on the other hand, stem cells are injected directly into the subarachnoid space (spinal cord cavity) using a fine needle. The administered stem cells enter the spinal fluid and are delivered to the site of injury by the spinal fluid flowing through the spinal cord. This treatment is expected to be more effective than intravenous administration in repairing and regenerating nerves near the spinal cord, and the treatment takes only a few minutes and is virtually painless. It can also be used in combination with intravenous stem cell infusions for additional benefits.
Intraspinal
Direct
Injection therapy is recommended for
Those suffering from hernia or spinal stenosis
- Those who have been diagnosed with numbness or pain in the limbs but not indicated for surgery
- Those who have never had surgery yet but really want to avoid surgery.
- Those who had surgery but have aftereffects, or had surgery but symptoms recurred or worsened.
Those suffering from the aftereffects of spinal cord injury
- Numbness, loss of sensation, or difficulty moving limbs
- Those with slow walking speed, poor balance, risk of falling, urinary or defecation problems
- Those who are still suffering from aftereffects after surgery or do not feel any benefit from rehabilitation
Sports Injuries and Trauma
Correspondence
Disease
Shoulder rotator cuff injuries, Meniscus injuries, Patellar tendonitis (jumper's knee), Knee ligament injuries,Medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow), medial (golf elbow) epicondylitis, lateral (tennis elbow) epicondylitis, Osgood-Schlatter disease, Muscle tear, Achilles tendonitis Achilles tendonitis, Ankle ligament injuries, Wrist ligament injuries, Tendonitis, TFCC injuries, plantar tendonitis
When an athlete or sportsperson suffers an injury, the time spent on treatment and rehabilitation is extremely valuable.
Excessive time can lead to significant losses for athletes and players. Furthermore, if surgery is required, the road to recovery becomes even longer and more difficult, and it is not uncommon for the athlete to be forced to retire from the sport.
Therefore, PRP therapy and autologous fat-derived stem cell therapy are gaining attention as a way to promote the repair of tissues such as joints, bones, muscles, and ligaments.
These treatments improve the speed of tissue recovery and help athletes and sportspeople return to work sooner.
PRP therapy and
autologous fat-derived
stem cell therapy is recommended for
- Those who are in sports and wish to return to work as soon as possible.
- Those who are allergic to drugs and have concerns about treatment
- Those who want to cure chronic symptoms.
- Those receiving ongoing steroid treatment.

Infection Check
About
Prior to receiving treatment at our clinic, preliminary testing is required to ascertain the risk of infection. Specifically, you will need to have a blood test performed on certain laboratory tests.
If you are unable to have blood tests done on your own, we can perform the tests at our clinic. However, please understand that the cost of prior testing is the responsibility of the patient. We hope you understand that this is part of our effort to minimize the risk of infection and provide safe treatment.
Differences in Regenerative Medicine Using Stem Cells
Regenerative medicine using stem cells can be broadly classified into two methods
| Type 2 Regenerative Medicine Types of Stem Cell Therapy |
Autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy What we offer at our clinic Cultivation Yes
|
ADRC (Adipose tissue-derived regenerative stem cell therapy) Celution No culture
|
|---|---|---|
| cell-collection method | A 1 cm incision is made around the lower abdomen and fat (about 2 grains of rice) is harvested. Stem cells are extracted and cultured from the harvested fat cells, increased to 10 to 200 million cells, and then administered into the body. (The number of cells to be administered varies depending on whether it is intravenous or intra-articular injection) |
The method involves harvesting about 300-500 cc of fat from the thigh or abdomen and administering it into the body without culturing it, resulting in hundreds of thousands of stem cells. |
| Burden on the body | Because stem cells are grown in culture, fewer cells need to be harvested. Small wounds and almost no pain, so the burden on the body is minimal. |
Because of the large amount of fat to be extracted, the burden on the body is high. Not suitable for patients with little subcutaneous fat or the elderly. Pain remains in the area where the fat is extracted after surgery. |
| Number of stem cells | 10 to 200 million *Depending on treatment area |
In addition to the limited amount of fat that can be harvested, the amount of stem cells that can be used is smaller than with the cultured method because stem cells are not cultured to increase the amount of fat. |
| Dosing Method |
|
|
| Period | About 4 to 6 weeks | about 1 day |
POINT
At our clinic, stem cells are harvested and used for treatment in a very low-impact way. For the collection, we take a very small amount of fat, 2 to 3 grains of rice in size, from the side of the navel. This procedure is performed using local anesthesia and only a very small incision.
Thus, the physical stress associated with the surgery is minimal. After the anesthesia wears off, you may feel a little pain, but the wound will heal quickly.
In our autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy, stem cells are cultured from harvested adipose tissue and their numbers are increased before being administered to the patient's body.
This method allows the therapeutic effects to persist after administration. Providing effective regenerative medicine while minimizing the burden on the body is one of the features of our clinic's treatment.
About Cell Culture Processing Facility (CPC)
Cell culture technology is extremely important for autologous adipose-derived stem cell therapy. Stem cell culture is performed at a cell culture processing facility (CPC, abbreviation for CellProcessing Center). Outside of Japan, it is generally referred to as a Cell Processing Facility (CPF).
In CPC, stem cell viability is critical. This is because if cultured stem cells are not vigorous, they cannot be expected to be effective when administered to patients.
In stem cell culture, it is not enough to simply increase the number of cells. To be effective in the patient's body, it is important to select cells of the appropriate size that can move smoothly through blood vessels. At the same time, the ability of these cells to reach the desired location and settle there is also necessary. Thus, culturing stem cells in consideration of both size and function is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the therapy.
Adipose-derived stem cells are considered extremely difficult to culture, but our clinic works with one of the top CPCs in Japan and has cleared these difficulties to a high standard.
